Astier de VillatteDuring my most recent visit to Paris, in July of this year, I was on the hunt for something special. Time Out Paris alerted me to a (small) handful of interesting interior shops and so I walked up and down rue St. Honoré on the hunt for one particular treasure, feeling quite annoyed because I was lost (I always manage to get lost in Paris), and then, at last, I found it. It wasn't hiding, but a certain phrase came to mind: le charme discret de la bourgeoisie.
Walking in to Astier de Villatte is a thrilling experience. I hope these photographs will give you an idea of what a wonderful a place this is. Their website, although very clever, gives nothing away when it comes to the shop - why don't they give us a virtual tour?
Astier de Villatte along with my all time favourite NYC shop John Derian are the exception to the new e-commerce rule: you really do have to be there; try not to miss out on this one.
Looks like a lovely spot, with lovely finds! Thanks for sharing. And thanks for your comments today!

Wow, your Parisian find looks amazing. I will be checking it out the next time we are in the city of lights. I love the birds featured in the 9th picture. I just want to reach into the photo and take that lovely flamingo and a few of her friends! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is #9. Heather, you commented on the sleek lines of the table legs and they caught my eye too.
ReplyDeleteI also like the bird artwork. The lines of the table legs actually kind of look like bird legs. I would have to buy both and keep them together some how. Too fun. Too fab.
Look at all these great comments! Thank you, I loved that shop...
ReplyDeleteMB, I agree, they are beautiful.
Lori - oh man, what I wouldn't do to own that table. Well spotted, you're right, they do look like birds legs! You don't miss a thing.
